I've written an encoding tutorial before, but since I was asked how to watermark/logo files, I'm posting this tutorial.

There are two ways how I watermark videos:
1. subtitles + subtitle filter
2. picture + logo filter

I mainly use the first method, and because I'm not cool, I'll only explain that one. After reading this tutorial, everyone and their mother should be able to encode nice, neat files.

To smart asses: this tutorial is for newbies, and I'm not gonna explain why I do something the way I do. You can take your bitchy attitude somewhere else, kthxbye.


Things you gotta know:
- I don't have Mac, I have Windows OS. Can't help with Mac problems.
- Some people install 3259739 codec packs for whatever reason. Unfortunately "better safe than sorry" doesn't work here. Don't install overlapping codecs. What does it mean? If you have installed e.g. K-Lite Mega Codec Pack there's no need to install XP Codec Pack, Xvid, ffdshow etc etc etc. I have ffdshow + Xvid. The first one is for VirtualDubMod and the latter one for StaxRip.
- If you encode a lot, create templates. Templates are god's gift - they save a lot of time and effort. I recommend to tweak default template right away (make changes before opening a file, otherwise you cannot save the changes). What should you change? You can start from codec and audio settings (scroll down to see what nonsense I've written about them).


So, you're gonna need:
- DVD Decrypter for ripping DVD.
- Aegisub for creating subtitle file. [I have version 2.1.6 'cause newer version crashed all the time.]
- StaxRip for encoding. [Excellent tool! All the programs you're gonna need, can be installed via StaxRip.]
